Surfside Beach, TX – Swimsuit Photo Shoot – SOS 2010

Today was an awesome day, I woke up real early, 2:30 AM to be exact, to join the Binders at their SOS 2010, early morning swimsuit shoot. This year I was by myself, Njay my trusty assistant forgot that we had a scheduled shoot hehehe.

Anyhow, on the way to Surfside Beach it was raining hard, I was afraid the shoot would get cancelled, fortunately enough around 4:30 AM the rain subsided and all the clouds parted as if on queue.

Right on the dot, we started shooting 30 mins before sunrise. As we progressed with the sun rising up, I had trouble with my PW Flex TT5. For some odd reason hypersync wasn’t working anymore, my shutter speed was stuck at 1/250th.

Anyhow, I managed to find a solution by upping the aperture and lowering the ISO, it wasn’t exactly the results I wanted but overall I’m happy with the images we took.

Houston Family Portraits – Lee Family Redux

About a year and six days ago today, I had the opportunity to shoot the Lee Family. They used to live in my neighborhood (Shadow Creek Ranch) but has since moved to downtown Houston, near where all the action is hehehe.

Like long lost friends we picked up where we left off, discussed past photo sessions, what we missed or did not do. They were looking forward to have their photos taken at their massive backyard but it had just rained, so the grass was wet and soggy.

Luckily, their new nest had a lot of rooms, so there was a lot of photo ops indoors.

Last June 12, Allen and I shot Celina and Matt’s very special day. It was a big celebration with well over 300 guests, maybe more. And it was expected, a lot people loved the couple =)

Pearland Family Portraits: Ashwini’s Baby Shower

Today we joined our good friends Ashwini and Gopi in a Hindu ceremony celebrating Ashwini’s pregnancy aka Baby Shower to the western world =).

They held the ceremony at the Shadow Creek Ranch Club House where the pool was very inviting, unfortunately we didn’t bring any swimming gear boohoo hehehe.

After the party they visited our house and we decided to do an impromptu photoshoot. I loved Ashwini’s sari so I just had to pose her and Gopi behind a white seamless paper.
